I have sold my art but do not have a PayPal account, how do I get paid.

We send the money via PayPal to the email account you used to sell your item. If you do not have a PayPal Account, you will be notified by PayPal that money is waiting for you and inviting you to to open an account.

I have sold my art, but have not been paid.

When your art sells, the money from the buyer goes into our PayPal account until the buyer confirms that they have received the art in the condition described by the seller.  At this point, we release payment, via Paypal, less commission, to the seller.  This protects both the purchaser and the seller.

Who pays for delivery costs?

The Buyer pays the delivery costs on items. This is added separately when you upload an item to the website.

However, if you wish to add an incentive to the buyer to purchases your item, you can choose to pay the delivery costs yourself – make sure you select the correct drop down option when you upload your item to the online form.

How do I find out more about a piece of Artwork?

You can find out more about a piece of Art that is for sale, by simply contacting the Seller – There is an ‘Ask a Question’ tab under the item you wish to inquire about. The Seller then receives an email notification.

Can I amend my Selling Price?

Yes! If you wish to Reduce or Increase your selling price, you are responsible for amending it on the website. All sales agreed, are final and prices cannot be amended once an item is sold.

How much does it cost?

Fees

We don’t charge Listing fees! However we do take a small commission of 20% when your Artwork sells – this is taken from the final selling price (including the delivery costs) so please bear this in mind when costing up your Artwork. All sales must go via our PayPal account – This is the safest way to both Buy and Sell your Artwork.

If your item doesn’t sell you usually don’t pay a commission fee.  However, if you offer or reference your contact information to another user or ask a buyer for their contact information, in the context of buying or selling outside of Theplace4art, we charge a commission fee for introducing you to the buyer. In this case, the commission fee is based on the higher of the fixed price or the price identified between the buyer and seller.

If you sell your artwork to a user of this site without going through PayPal, you will still be liable to pay our commission fee.

If you sell your artwork privately and do not remove it from our website, and someone subsequently purchases it through our website, you will be liable to pay a fee to cover the costs of reimbursing the customer in addition to a £20 administration fee.
