Needle felted Rough Collie Dog Portrait. I am needle felt artist and I use wool as my paint and a special barbed needle to stab the wool onto the background material. This process takes many hours. I work from a customers photo and recreate the Dog or animal to be as near realistic as possible. This is in a 10 x 8 inch stretched canvas. The background is cotton. This portrait shows all the variations of the fur colours and textures and all the highlites that you would get from a photo. I do Dog portraits on commission, I also do cats and other animals.
